As the song goes, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! When I saw bus drivers in Christmas sweaters and the Christmas tree set up in the Business School, I knew Christmas was on its way. There is so much to do during Christmas in Edinburgh – here are some of the things that I would recommend.
I went to the Christmas market one evening with some friends, and it turned out to be one of my favourite moments from my time in Edinburgh. Here are three highlights from that evening.

Back in China, we have various types of cooking styles and different seasonings. Many people have joked that the best food in the UK is the food from other countries. Although this is untrue, there are many nice restaurants in Edinburgh that serve authentic food from countries like Mexico, India and Italy. After spending more than a month in Edinburgh, I have discovered several ways to satisfy your appetite perfectly.
Edinburgh is a dream city for many people, and so it attracts people from all over the world, enjoying incredible diversity. Consequently, in Edinburgh, I have been able to meet people from different countries and regions, such as Europe, South Africa and the United States. It is definitely something that is not so easily done in China. I feel very lucky to meet these intelligent, open-minded and inclusive people.
Doing a Masters or pursuing further study is a significant step to take. It may mean you that you are not satisfied with your current life, or that you want to change something in your life. The Business School provides you with lots of opportunities to make that happen.
As an incoming student you will quickly learn that the first week before classes officially starts is called Welcome Week; a week packed with numerous events and lots of fun. Here are the events I would highly recommend to every incoming student.
There were many factors that led me to choose the Masters in International Business and Emerging Markets (IBEM). However I believe that you cannot really judge a thing fully until you have experienced it. The first week of IBEM is already over and it has given me a lot to think about.
