Moody’s is here

This month, Moody’s came to the Business School allowing us to meet with a group of employees working in different areas of the company, from mathematics to physics. This was a great opportunity for us to find out more about the roles that we would hope to move into in the financial sector.

Books for the holiday break

Spending time with family and friends is the perfect way to unwind at the end of an intense semester. For me the holidays are a good time to recharge and reflect on what has happened in recent months. I also like to catch up on my favourite shows, and read some books that allow me to dig deeper into the topics that interest me. Here are three books that I finished during the holiday break that I would highly recommend.

Christmas in Edinburgh

As the song goes, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! When I saw bus drivers in Christmas sweaters and the Christmas tree set up in the Business School, I knew Christmas was on its way. There is so much to do during Christmas in Edinburgh – here are some of the things that I would recommend.

Dress like a British girl

From an early age, I have been obsessed with British movies and TV shows. James Bond, Downton Abbey and Kingsman are the perfect example of the traditional British style – the aroma of coffee, the hat on the head and the umbrella in the hand are what spring to mind when I picture a British gentleman. Next, I would like to introduce you to three brands that have stolen British’s heart.

Bon Appetit in Edinburgh

Back in China, we have various types of cooking styles and different seasonings. Many people have joked that the best food in the UK is the food from other countries. Although this is untrue, there are many nice restaurants in Edinburgh that serve authentic food from countries like Mexico, India and Italy. After spending more than a month in Edinburgh, I have discovered several ways to satisfy your appetite perfectly.

Making friends in Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a dream city for many people, and so it attracts people from all over the world, enjoying incredible diversity. Consequently, in Edinburgh, I have been able to meet people from different countries and regions, such as Europe, South Africa and the United States. It is definitely something that is not so easily done in China. I feel very lucky to meet these intelligent, open-minded and inclusive people.
